Helen Beynon, MA
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Squamish and Online

I have a Masters in Counselling Psychology and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BCACC.

I help people work through anxiety and grief in their many forms. Together we can navigate life transitions and relationships, the loss of loved ones, pain, injury or illness. We can also work to shift old patterns and heal emotional wounds so you can reconnect to your essential self and start living from a place of ease and vitality – at work, in relationships and in life.

I specialize in:

  • Helping women of all ages to cultivate self-worth, acceptance and self-compassion so they can lead their most satisfying lives

  • Supporting young adults to navigate the stressors and transitions of school, work, relationships and identity – there’s a lot to sort through at this stage of life!

  • Working with those who are struggling with pain and injury so they can continue to lead fulfilling lives without feeling held back. I’ve been there!

Attachment theory, somatics and neuroscience inform the variety of therapeutic approaches I can draw on in response to your unique needs. We will explore your experience holistically – your thoughts and memories, your feelings, your body sensations and nervous system, your resources, strengths and connections. For clients who are interested, I can also integrate energy healing/reiki to support the counselling process – this can help you to connect more deeply to a sense of “yourself” in embodied ease.

I have over 15 years of experience in non-profits in BC and internationally, working as a leader, a facilitator and a community builder. My own experiences with injury, pain, grief, belonging and shifting identity inform my work and the compassion I bring to our relationship. When I'm not in the therapy room, I enjoy dancing, exploring mystical practices, spending time in the forest and on the water, and getting engrossed in a good novel.
