EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a specialized counseling technique designed to help individuals overcome emotional distress and trauma.

Trauma happens when negative emotions and sensations become "stuck" in our body when our nervous system becomes too overwhelmed in response to a distressing event.

During EMDR sessions, clients  are guided by a therapist to recall distressing memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation (through eye movements, tapping, or tones). This process helps reprocess and desensitize these memories, reducing their emotional impact and allowing individuals to heal and move forward with their lives.

EMDR has proven to be highly effective in treating conditions like PTSD, anxiety , depression, and substance use concerns. EMDR can serve as a valuable complement to conventional talk-based therapy or function as a standalone therapeutic approach.

Please book a phone consultation with Kelsey or Nicole if you would like to see if EMDR might be a good fit for you.
