Christie Holmes, RCC

My name is Christie Holmes and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

My approach to counselling is holistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed. I believe that each person’s journey is unique and take an intersectional lens to explore all aspects of a person and their lived experiences.

In my therapeutic practice, I am passionate about the ways in which community, resilience, and the mind-body connection can heal. I draw from Attachment-based, Emotions-focused, Internal Family Systems, Somatic, and Narrative models of practice. I believe that no one approach fits all and work from a collaborative space to better understand your needs.

In my work with adults, couples, and youth (age 14+), I focus on the following areas:

• Anxiety and Depression

• Trauma

• Relationship challenges

• Substance use and Addictions

• Grief and Loss

• Self-esteem and Perfectionism

• Life transitions

Healing comes in many forms and it is a great privilege to do this work alongside you. I hope to provide a warm, non-judgemental, and safe space for others to work through painful and challenging life circumstances in order to connect with their true and authentic selves.

I have a background in non-profit work, community advocacy, and educational leadership programming. In my previous counselling role through Vancouver Coastal Health, I supported diverse adult populations with substance use challenges and co-occurring mental health diagnoses.

I grew up in Arizona and have lived in BC for the last 15 years. My love of nature and outdoor activities brought me to Squamish. In my free time, I like to wander around the local trails with my dog, Penny, and cozy up with a good book and cup of coffee.
