Getting Started

Choosing to see a counsellor can feel hard, and taking the next step can feel even harder. Our main goal is to make the process as comfortable and safe as possible.

The relationship between you and your counsellor is unique. It’s built on trust, acceptance, understanding, and a non-judgemental approach. We encourage you to book an appointment or a phone consultation to see for yourself whether counselling feels right for you at this point in your life.

OPTIONAL PHONE CONSULTATION

If you’d like to learn more before booking, we offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. You’re welcome to text, call, or email to arrange one. Contact details for each counsellor are listed in their bio.

This call is a chance to “test the waters” and ask yourself: Is this someone I feel comfortable talking with? You can share a bit about what’s bringing you to counselling and ask any questions you may have.

Common questions include:

How often should I book sessions?

What approaches do you use?

What experience do you have in this area?

What does a typical session look like?

Can my partner and I see you individually?

What does your availability look like?

After the call, if it feels like a good fit, we can help you book your first session. You’re also welcome to have consultation calls with more than one counsellor.

 

We strongly believe that finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is key to getting the most out of counselling.

COUNSELLING SESSIONS

Your counsellor’s first goal is to get to know you and understand what you’d like from counselling.

You might want to:

Work through current stress or loss

Explore patterns in your life

Build coping skills

Improve relationships

Or talk things through without a clear focus yet

Whatever your goals (or even if you don’t have any yet), we’ll support you in shaping them and moving toward what you need. While different therapeutic approaches inform our work, we believe every person is unique, and so your experience will be tailored to what works best for you. Together, you and your counsellor will collaborate and find the relief, clarity, understanding, or personal growth you're looking for.
