Low Cost Counselling Options at Peak Experience Counselling
We believe that counselling should be accessible to all. If you are seeking the support of a counsellor, but finances are a barrier, we have created a list of options to explore. Counselling is for everyone and we would like to help you connect with someone you feel comfortable and supported by.
Wirth Hats
Wirth Hats was founded with a mission to remove the barriers that prevent people from accessing mental health support. One of those barriers that many face is affordability. Through the sale of our hats and donations from our community, we are happy to provide free therapy support for those who would otherwise be unable to afford it. Each individual who is sponsored by Wirth Foundation will receive up to eight free therapy sessions with a registered therapist.

You can also buy cool t-shirts, hats, stickers and other gear that goes to support the counselling fund on the Wirth Hats website.
Tantalus Wellspring Society
Tantalus Wellspring Society (TWS) is a Squamish-based registered charity committed to bridging gaps in mental health and wellness services. TWS grew out of the identified need for affordable mental healthcare in our community.
Our aim is to ensure all community members have access to both preventative and responsive support and services. We are committed to helping empower people in their own mental well-being by providing access to activities that support mental wellness through community-based workshops and activities. We are also committed to ensuring that individuals, families, couples and youth have access to qualified therapists.

Peak Experience Sliding Scale Options
As a part of running an ethical practice, many of the therapists at Peak Experience Counselling are able to offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to their clients. This is usually a set number of sessions at a lower rate to help offset some of the costs.

Currently, Olessia Axenova and Sophie Leevers have some availability for lower fee clients. Please reach out to them directly to ask about this option.
Other Free Community Based Options
Squamish Mental Health & Substance Use Services is a Vancouver Coastal Health program offering in person supports. It can be accessed here.

The First Nations Health Authority offers funding for counselling for First Nations People. You can access more information here.

Sea to Sky Community Services offers many different supports to community members. Options are explained here.

Foundry Sea to Sky is a support for youth in our community ages 12-24. Their programs and supports can be explored here.

Pearl Space is an amazing community resource in Squamish and Whistler, dedicated to the prevention of gender-based violence and support for survivors impacted by violence or abuse. Free counselling is open to all. You can find out more here.
